Getting a bit bolder about Austin. I even managed to go on a few small adventures last week, including: Goodwill (for my snazzy new desk, circa 1972), an interview w/ a recruiting agency (thinking ahead, I gave myself an hour to get to their offices that are only 15 minutes away - as predicted, I got lost) and then on Sunday I even ventured out to the Arboretum (a neat outdoor mall that I affectionately call the Ar-Burrito to remember how to pronounce it - and sets locals into giggles when I say it). These outings ensure me that Austin isn’t awful to navigate once you get the basics down. I haven’t yet tackled downtown, maybe next week.

The meeting w/ the recruiter was probably the best thing that happened (job-wise) last week. As many jobs as I am applying for (and not getting called back for), it is nice to know I have an ‘agent’ of sorts representing me. We’ll see if it gets me anything.

Tonight is ‘24′ night at Christine and Nicole’s. I’m not sure how many of these I’ll be invited back for. I’m still in the habit of talking to the T.V. (a Jef and Kristin habit that’s been hard to break) and tend to heckle most of the main character’s decisions (the daughter should have been killed by the cougar, or at least still be in the bomb shelter, and the good blond sister needs to get another expression besides wide-eyed surprise). Must… suppress… verbal… opinions…

Last tidbit of news - Thursday night is the first Nooner show I get to go to (Tim’s band). If you happen to be in the Austin area, it’s at Steamboat at 8:00 pm. Come out and play. :)
