Halloween on 6th St in Austin
… Is not for the weak of heart. The Austin American Statesman predicted 30-40,000 people would be downtown and I’m a believer they all showed up. :) Jef and I both dressed up - I was a 50’s soc-hop girl and he was Willy Wonka. We headed down to the Vibe on 6th St. to see our good friends, Nooner, and hung out there for the majority of the night. We walked up the street and ran into another Willy Wonka and the entire cast of kids, and later a group of Oompa Loompa’s. It was a riot. It took about 30 minutes to get two blocks to another bar called Buffalo Billiards, and we hung out there on a balcony overlooking the chaos. Those pictures don’t do justice to the amount of people who were down on the street. It was about that point when the novelty of the crowd wore off for me. There were just soooooo many people. Overall, we had a blast. Everyone was in a great mood and the costumes were amazing - check out the pictures.
