Sad Day
Sen. Kerry phoned President Bush today to concede the presidential election, a White House aide said. Kerry is expected to make a public statement at 1 p.m. ET and Bush is scheduled to speak at 3 p.m. ET. Bush has 254 electoral votes to Kerry’s 252, according to CNN projections, with 270 needed to win. Key state Ohio, with 20 electoral votes, hasn’t completed its vote tally. Full Story.
It’s not a huge secret to anyone who knows me that I don’t like Bush. He scares the crap out of me, and goes against my biggest political issues - a woman’s right to choose (it’s my body, jackass - stay the fuck away from it), gay rights (you’re just scared somebody’s going to try to turn you gay), and foreign relations (if the world didn’t hate us before, they sure do now). Not to mention the fact that even w/ a fully prepared speech, it’s embarrassing to watch him speak, he’s beyond arrogant and we’ll spend decades digging ourselves out debt and the repercussions of this unnecessary, stupid war.
Ok…. I’m done. Momma’s little liberal is coming down off her soapbox and going to sit in the corner and lick her wounds from the lost election.
On a lighter note - go check out the Utah baby namer.
