It was a late night last night at SXSW. I didn’t get in to see Mike Doughty, but I’m not gonna let it get me down. There are plenty of other bands I can’t wait to see, and I’ll certainly see MD next time he’s in town. But guaranteed - there were only maybe 10 people in that show that are bigger fans than me. :)

I also got a free Starbuck’s coffee this morning from a meeting I wasn’t even in (score! Sometimes it’s the little things.). I don’t normally drink coffee, but due to the aforementioned late night, I made an exception. It’s funny - I didn’t realize coffee brands smelled all that different, but apparently Starbuck’s is unique. It had me reeling back to the summer… August in Illinois at the World Freefall Convention. It was unusually cold this year, and every morning I was groggy and freezing. I’d stop off at Charity’s under the food tent and get an egg sandwich and a big cup of Starbuck’s brand coffee.

I wonder what scent will send me reeling back to SXSW in a few months. And don’t say Jagermeister.
