President Clinton was at Book People today doing a signing and requested some time to stop by GSD&M and spend a few minutes with Roy (our founder) and speak to the company. He and Roy have been close friends for many years, and Hillary has been through the Agency a few times, but this was a rare appearance by President Clinton (especially to speak!). He and his entourage came through the fire exit RIGHT by Zach’s cube, and while everyone else was gathered in the lobby waiting for him, a handful of us stayed behind to get pictures and greet him at the door. He was very polite and said hello and I got to SHAKE HIS HAND! Once in the lobby, he spoke about 15 minutes on his current causes (tsunami relief, AIDS in Africa, etc.), his relationship with Roy and Judy (The S and & in GSD&M) and then headed out. It’s the closest thing I’ve had to a celebrity encounter, so I’m pretty excited. He’s an amazing man, and it was an honor to hear him speak.
