Beautiful!! My Kimmy came over this morning with the girls to help me plant a few things. I have finally got the girls convinced that going to Grammas house means they can get “Wet and Dirty YEAHHHHHH!!!” They were very much both wet and dirty by the time they left. We planted my Oriental poppies (2-one red, one white), columbine (one blue and white, and one pink and white, added to my already overgrown bed of traditional yellows-I pulled a few clumps of them to make room for the new ones), 3 more daisies (one pink English daisy, one more Shasta daisy, one more rudbeckia-blanket flower)added to my 3 clumps already established (in front of my white clematis vine to give it more shade around its roots to get closer to the “hot top/cool bottom” rule), two Easter Lillies and 3 mums leftover from the church decorations we had up for Easter, plus we trimmed some dead wood out of one of the apricot trees I have. The girls had lots of fun pulling dandelions and putting “butter on their noses” with them, and watering (drowning)my pots leftover with dirt from last summer but no plants in them yet this year. Great fun for all!! Hopefully, by the time you come out to visit your dad, it will all be fully in bloom. I am slowly, but surely, getting more perennials planted, so I don’t have to spend so much money to put in annuals every year. I bought this place more for the established garden beds, than for the house. I am so glad I did. I love my time outside. It’s a great way to relax when I get home from work every morning, before I call it quits, and go to bed. Mom is helping a lot, too, in between her Quilting, Spinning, and Weaving Guilds. You should see the wonderful quilt top she just finished. I am claiming at least some ownership for the creative design. She did use some of MY input, and I did help with pressing the seams as it went together. It IS in the most perfect colors for MY bedroom, and I DO need a new quilt. She is being obstreperous (is that as good a word as kinesthetically? You are now a candidate for joining Kim, Brenda, and I in the “Big Word Club”.)I suppose you think YOU should have it, too? There is a LONG line of candidates for this quilt already. You better get your name on the list as soon as you can! Anyway, I better get busy. I am at work, and my phones are busy. TaTa, for now.
