“The time has come,” the Walrus said,
“To talk of many things:
Of shoes - and ships - and sealing wax -
Of cabbages - and kings -
And why the sea is boiling hot -
And whether pigs have wings.”

Or maybe the time has come to talk about my domain name.

When my sister and I were little, my dad would leave us notes, or send us letters, and always signed them ‘excessanddoess, Dad.’ It clearly has sentimental value, and while it was good in theory to use as a domain name, it’s been poor in execution. I’m forever explaining what it is, how to pronounce it, how to spell it, and not to forget to double the consonants.

I’ve thought about changing it for a year or so, but couldn’t muster up the creative energy to think of a new one. I planted the seed in some friends’ heads, but didn’t really start brainstorming until last week. I started a list of the luke-warm potentials, but when my friend, Zach, sent me this one… I knew excessanddoess had found a worthy successor.

With that in mind, please join me in bidding a fond farewell to excessanddoess, and a warm welcome to…

karmalized.

I’m sad at the transition (because I’m both sentimental AND a geek), but feel like it’s a good idea. I’ll be keeping excessanddoess active until the domain expires, and then I’m not sure what will come of it. My dad expressed interest in taking it over, so it might not be lost entirely. Could be fitting, considering that’s where it started to begin with. :)

In the meantime, feel free to update your bookmarks / links / email addresses, etc. to reflect the change to karmalized. Don’t hold back in giving me your feedback either. Not that it’ll do much at this point, considering it’s already bought and paid for. ;)
