As you may remember, Ben and Lisa snuck off to Key West in March and got HITCHED after being together for 8 years! It was a total surprise for Lisa - she thought she was just going on a little mini-vacation, but Ben had the whole thing planned out - the ring, the justice of the peace, he even had their best friends, Jon and Lisa, fly in from Dallas to meet them and be witnesses. Not to be mushy, but they are a perfect match. Lisa is obsessed with Kermit the frog, Ben with the Denver Broncos…. and while those two things have NOTHING to do with one another, there’s always the Disney obsession. Who goes to Disney every year (sometimes twice!) and still loves it and looks forward to EVERY trip? Ben and Lisa!

But I digress.

So they get married, and there’s no way we’re going to let them get away with this “no big deal” attitude. We decided to throw them a surprise wedding party! They both thought they were coming to a party for Tim’s birthday - we even asked Lisa to make her queso and Ben to bring a cable for the PA to try and throw them off. We told them the party was starting at 9, and since they are early for EVERYTHING (seriously. everything.), we knew they’d show up at 8:30. We had the guests to arrive at 7:30, and wouldn’t you know it, Ben and Lisa rolled in right at 9. By then, we were pretty comfortable w/ the venue and Liz announced on the PA “Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Ben and Lisa Mills!” They laughed and shrugged it off, assuming Liz was just being Liz - Ben even walked right past us to put the queso on the food table. It took us saying “No, this is for YOU!” several times, and pointing to the signs (Ben hearts Lisa) and seeing their friends from Dallas before they really put everything together.

Congratulations, you crazy kids. We all love you and had great fun celebrating your marriage. :)
