Look at the Monkey!

A few years ago, I dated someone who would make light of my ADD tendencies by waving his hand off to the side and saying “Look at the monkey!” Never failed, would distract me EVERY time - which was the point, I suppose. Anyway. I made the mistake of telling people this story and now EVERYONE does it to me. Christine and Nicole even brought me back this coconut monkey from Hawaii as a token. I think it’s a drink holder, but I haven’t…
… oh! Something shiney!

Ah, yes, my friend. You and I are cut from the same cloth.
The Boy also tells me that I’m very squirrel-like when I get distracted. Picture the squirrel in the middle of the road, trying to decide which way to run. Yeah… that would be me…

Hmmmm…ADD…..I always thought that was something that the doctors made up because they needed an excuse to try mind control drugs on elementary school kids….
That’s just me, but some people tell me I’m a little bit paranoid :-)
Cheers!

I believe it’s insanely over-diagnosed, especially in kids, but that it definitely exists. The right testing (extensive, people!) and medication can help them get thru a school day and actually learn something. That’s just me though. I joke about having ADD, but the fact that it worsens when I have caffeine, or haven’t eaten, makes me doubt that I do. :)
