My phone rings this morning, it’s my mom.
Mom: Hey. How old are you?
Krit: Seriously?
Mom: Yes
Krit: How old do you THINK I am?
Mom: 26
Krit: That’s right
Mom: And you’ve lived in *37* places already?
Krit: Ha! So you got my email
A few months ago, I was sitting at my computer trying to remember some old addresses - when I’d lived where, etc.. I knew we’d moved a lot, but I couldn’t remember the order, or the dates. I figured it would help to put them down on paper to see the progression. So I started a list. In Excel. With columns for Date, Description, Town, State, Zip and Notes (example: ? - ?, Cheyanne St. House, Powell, WY, 82435, Haunted!! Jen broke her foot on the skateboard). I got as far as I could and sent the list to my sister to fill in the blanks. She IM’d me this week and asked if I realized how big of a project I’d started. What?! It’s just a list! She said “Off the top of my head, I count at least six places you’re missing.” SIX! How is that possible to forget SIX entire homes?! This was bigger than I expected.
We filled Mom in on the project and she said, no problem. She was, after all, older than we were during these moves, so she had a better grasp on the timeline. This morning she actually got the list, thus that above phone call.
Between my sister and I, we’ve lived in 55 homes. To be fair, only 34 of them were while we were still living w/ our parents, the other 21 we’re responsible for all on our own. Still, it’s impressive.

Wow…that’s pretty impressive, I can only think of 12 places I’ve lived, and that’s mostly just my own after I moved out of my parents house…
I’m highly impressed…that takes not only skill but some serious moving determination. I hate moving and can not imagine doing it that many times (shudder)
Cheers!

That reminds me of something my mom said when I first told her about the project (before she’d seen it). I told her she’d be surprised at how many places once she saw it in on paper. She said she wouldn’t be, after all “I packed every one of them.” She was still surprised, and yes… the packing is painful, but the unpacking is glorious.

Wow, that’s fascinating! You are nomadic!
