Here’s a little something extra that you might not have known (or noticed) about me. When you talk to me, I look at your mouth more than your eyes. If you cover your mouth while you’re talking, I can’t hear you as well, even if the room isn’t loud. I can follow reporters on the news even when the TV is muted. I don’t read lips, but it’s kind of like how I understand enough Spanish to follow the general direction of a conversation, more by keywords than actual content. I was talking to my sister today and she does the exact same thing. She actually said “It’s bad because if I’m looking at someone’s eyes, it probably means I’m paying less attention than if I was looking at their mouth.”
