I haven’t updated in awhile, so I have a lot of little things.

I was walking Lucy on the trail area behind Jef’s apartment complex last week and almost stepped on a snake - not very big, of the garden variety. The part that makes it interesting (and not just cringe-worth) is something I didn’t even notice until he tried to crawl back into his drain cover hidey-hole thing. He got about half way in the hole and then got stuck. He had apparently eaten something and the bulge was too big to get through. He kept trying though, over and over and over. Eventually he just gave up and laid by the hole. Part of me felt bad for the little confused full-bellied snake. All he probably wanted to do was get home to his snake recliner and turn on Survivor and take a nap. I hope he made it eventually… and then I hope he stays there forever because even though I felt a little bad for him, I don’t really like snakes. I’ve had to change my walking routine w/ Lucy to completely avoid that area.

Jef and I went to a Nightmare Before Christmas sing-a-long at the Alamo Draft House last night. It was a riot. It was just the two of us, and even though we are both fans of the movie we were both kind of “what did we get ourselves into” when we first arrived. It could have been lame, but a) when does the Draft House EVER do anything lame and b) one of the guys from the Sinus Show was hosting it and that made ALL the difference. There was a pumpkin carving contest (the only kids in attendance won - who would boo a CHILD off stage?) and bobbing for apples (w/ a bonus Schlitz in the barrel - 3 extra points!*).

*For the record, the children weren’t allowed to participate in this game. One girl came away SOAKED and only got one apple, a few bites of another (which she spit onto the stage) and actually bit the Schlitz so hard she pierced it. It was a fierce competition.

Also saw Cameron Crowe’s new film, Elizabethtown. I was a little disappointed by it. There were certain things I loved about the story, and the soundtrack was unreal, but I thought Orlando Bloom was a horrible choice and it was kind of cluttered.

I was also sick last week, but that’s over now.

I have a couple other things I want to share, but I have to get to work. Standby.
