Scary Movies
With Halloween upon us, I thought I’d share that I am NOT a fan of horror flicks. Whenever I watch a scary movie, I have to immediately follow it with Happy Gilmore or Lilo and Stitch to clear my head. I think it stems from having an older sister and step-mom who loved watching them, but hated watching them alone. I have particularly strong ties to the Nightmare on Elm Street series. I usually forget details about books and movies shortly after watching them (w/ exceptions, of course), but I remember those VIVIDLY. The one where the girl is trying to run up the stairs and her foot goes thru the step and gets stuck in something like glue, and the one where the kid gets sucked into his bed and blood sprays up to the ceiling. The original is on Bravo right now and as much as I know I shouldn’t, I can’t turn it off! The memories!
One, two Freddy’s coming for you…
Three, four better lock your door…
Five, six grab your crucifix…
Seven, eight better stay up late…
Nine, ten …
Crap. What’s Nine, ten? And you’re dead again? Anyone remember? (I mean actually remember, no googling. That’s cheating)
UPDATE: Ok… I posted this LITERALLY 3 minutes ago and I’ve already turned off Nightmare On Elm Street. I couldn’t do it. Now I’m watching Twister on TBS to make my heart stop racing. :) Signed, Kristin-the Chicken

That would be nine, ten… never sleep again. :)
And that kid getting sucked into his bed is Johnny Depp. Does the fact that I still find him hot, even though he’s about 17 in that movie make me a bad person?

Never sleep again!! Gah! I can’t believe I didn’t remember that. And I had completely forgotten it was Johnny Depp until I saw him climbing thru her window (moments before turning it off). He’s such a BABY!

I guess this means you won’t be setting the TiVo for Vampire Bats on CBS Sunday night? I just saw the teaser for it. Eek.
I was in high school when the Freddie Krueger, no wait, was it J-a-a-a-a-a s-o-o-o-o-n? , ones came out. I slept in my parents’ room for 2 nights!
