525,600
525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year?
In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee.
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.
In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year in the life?
Rent came out my Junior year of high school, but I didn’t see it until Jef took me in DC. I remember thinking (even though I KNEW it was this ground breaking show)”why didn’t anyone warn me? Why didn’t they tell me I would fall so madly in love with these characters and be so moved by this story?” Days later I would catch myself giggling, or wiping away a tear, after remembering something from the play. I suppose I was affected the way you’re told a good piece of art should affect you.
A few months ago Jef sent me an excited IM with this link (I thought he made a post on his site as well, but I can’t find it*), and I could hardly contain myself. I’m finally starting to see the trailer in regular rotation on TV and I can’t WAIT to see it. I woke up with those numbers in my head the other morning and just smiled.
According to the offical site, only 27,375 minutes until it opens in movie theaters everywhere (November 23).
*UPDATE (11/07/05 5:07 PM) - Found it!

I’m super excited about it too! I have the soundtrack and know the words to every song….I’m a nerd.

me too! I mean, I want to see it, I don’t know all the words. So that means I’m NOT a nerd.
