ReadyMade Blog

Oh holy crap! ReadyMade Magazine has a blog. This is a Do-It-Yourself goldmine, people. ReadyMade is my FAVORITE magazine (”…a bimonthly print magazine for people who like to make stuff, who see the flicker of invention in everyday objects — the perfectly round yolk in the mundane egg.”). They make lamps out of photo slides, mosaic tabletops out of paint chips and watering cans out of detergent bottles (I’m doing all three of those things, btw).
I love magazines, but I hate clutter, so I tear out the recipes or craft projects and throw the rest away. Rarely do I ever DO anything w/ these pages, but I still feel better. Like I’ve cleaned up. I *never* throw out ReadyMade. It publishes every other month and until Jef bought me a subscription for Christmas, I’d only splurge a few times a year. My issues are precious, I keep all of them.
And now they have a blog. Of DAILY tips. And … LINKS. I’m about to crush my computer w/ joy.
Now that I have a house, I actually get to DO some of these projects.
I’m ammending my New Year’s resolution list to add “Do ReadyMade projects”.
And I’m adding a link over there. –>

Oh jeez…I have heard about this magazine, and tried to convince myself that I should not buy it, because I will only want to do all the projects but then inevitably collect the supplies and never finish anything, leaving my house more of a disaster than it already is. But YOU, you have inspired me. And now there’s the blog. I want to make a mosaic table out of paint chips! And something out of some trash in my basement–I KNOW there is a goldmine hiding down there! I am holding you personally responsible for any negative outcomes of this… ;)
