Bull Creek
There’s a cool little watering hole in the Bull Creek Watershed in North Austin that my friend Mary introduced me to. I’ve heard that not all parts of Bull Creek are very nice, but this spot (360 N and Spicewood Springs) is a total gem. There were flat rocks for laying out, shallow water for chairs (the water needs to warm up a little to make that comfortable, by next month it’ll be about perfect), and the water goes over little falls into a big pool for swimming. It’s in an off-leash trail area, so there were a few a few people who came through with their dogs, but we were the only ones who set up camp for the day. The dogs were in heaven, they ran themselves ragged with very little help from us. In the last hour when people would come through, Lucy would give them a quick nod from wherever she’d passed out, but wouldn’t even bother getting up.

“Your dogs are so well behaved!”

Yes, yes they are. As my friend, Chrissy, always says, “a tired dog is a good dog.”
