iBook Love
Not only is that a picture of my iBook, it’s a current PICTURE - meaning it’s no longer poor or broken!! - but I actually uploaded that picture and I’m writing this post FROM the little bugger! God bless Jef and the Mac Help Desk at my work. They don’t read this, so this isn’t even an attempt to suck up, but they are far beyond the staff at the “Genius Bar.”

For the ‘techs’, my harddrive seems ok (for now, we’ll see how it performs over the next few months, there’s a chance we could still find a scratch on it at some point). Apparently, while iBook harddrives are a bitch to replace, being buried in the body has it’s advantages - it’s pretty protected. There were some corrupted files, and after they were repaired, it still wouldn’t come up. So they did a complete wipe and re-install of the OS. Jef had done a re-install, but hadn’t completely formatted it, I guess that was the final push it needed. So far, so good.

Damn, it feels good to be home.
