And not *just* a new design, but a whole new blogging software to support it. I heard one of the guys from WordPress speak during SXSW and was pretty impressed. I knew I wanted to make a change from Blogger to something more robust, but everytime I looked at MoveableType it made my head hurt - way too much for me. WordPress seemed somewhere in between. More features, infinitely customizeable, and enough code to make me crosseyed, but not cry. (Or not cry ANYMORE, anyway. The first few attempts weren’t pretty. Jef was good at helping when I was desperate, but really wanted me to learn this on my own. Something about teaching a man to fish…)

My favorite feature is the addition of categories and an archive page. I never liked how Blogger archived my old posts. I’m sure there was something I could have done about it, there are plenty of hacks, but WordPress made it so easy. There were a ton of pre-built plugins to choose from. An organizers dream. Of course my previous 200+ posts are uncategorized, but from here on out! I hope you enjoy it. I’m sure I’ll stick w/ this for a year or so and then switch it up. That seems to be about my limit. If I can’t move, or rearrange my furniture, I’ll redesign my blog. ;)
