Today’s mowing day. It’s rained so much the past few weeks we haven’t been able to mow (and the few days it didn’t rain, Jef had to work late and I’m afraid of the lawnmower). It’s supposed to rain again tomorrow, so we have this ONE day or we risk losing Lucy out there.

We have an abundance of ivy in the yard and today I found honeysuckle is growing *up* the ivy. They are both fast-growing vines that are very pretty, but, if you aren’t careful, can take over your yard and kill other foliage. It made me smile that they were intertwined. A match made in heaven.

The giant
tree-bush is ‘podding’. I have no idea what’s going to come out of this thing. A fruit? A flower? A baby?

That “Honeysuckle” is actually Morning Glory. In some states it is considered a noctious weed because it grows SO fast and it WILL take over your yard and choke out the other plants. I had a VERY bad experience with morning glory and I will NEVER have it in my yard again!!

I don’t know why I called it Honeysuckle, I knew it was Morning Glory, but I did it here and on the photo description in Flickr. They have such sweet little flowers to be such vicious little weeds, but we have a patch in the middle of our yard that Jef mows over and over and they just keep popping back up. I don’t know how they got to the OTHER side of the yard to grow up the ivy, but I’ll keep an eye on it.
