I know it’s only a few days after Thanksgiving, but I can’t help being a little giddy about Christmas . My friend, Lisa, posted a picture while I was in Pennsylvania of them hanging Christmas lights in 80 degree weather. It made me laugh. It IS harder to get in the spirit in Austin, but we’ll make due.

The two things I’m looking forward to the most are cutting down our tree and decorating. I love the idea of Jef and my traditions mushing together.

Jef’s parents bought him and his sister a new ornament every year when they were growing up. When they moved out of the house, they had a set of meaningful ornaments to take with them. The year Jef got his license, he got a car ornament. The year he turned 21, he got a keg. The year we went on vacation to NYC, they bought us both subway token ornaments. He’s kept up with the it and this year we bought ornaments on our trip to Disney.

Our neighborhood is already starting to light up, there’s plastic statues EVERYWHERE. It makes me wonder what will our decorations look like. What little thing we’ll do this year that will become a Jef & Kristin tradition.

In the meantime. One present at midnight and cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. One new ornament, and reindeer antlers on the dog.
