In case you didn’t know, we had an ice storm in Austin that paralized our poor city this week. Businesses were closed, roads were barely plowed, there wasn’t enough de- icer for the planes. Have mercy on us - this is Austin, not Denver! Honestly, I’ve never seen ice like this in my life. There was an inch thick crystal clear coating on EVERYTHING. Cars, patio furnature, BLADES OF GRASS. Our entire lawn was a spikey, pokey bed of ice - each blade individually frozen. Lucy had fun w/ the snow (her first), but hated walking across the lawn. When she had to go out, she’d stand on the concrete patio and look at me with the biggest, saddest eyes.

Of course the ice created a multitude of photo opportunities. I have been working from home since Monday, so I’ve been able to take a few breaks and capture this crystalline wonderland.
