Jef and I are that demographic that don’t have home phones, and my cell service has been super sketchy since we moved into the new house last year. I actually have service right up until our street and then wham! nothing. Not even roaming. Figures. I’ve been a longtime Sprint fan, but aside from building a tower in our backyard, there’s (sadly) not much they can do to keep my business anymore. After a loooong debate over a new provider (don’t get me started), we went w/ Cingular. Verizon was a very, very close second (their ticks in the pro/con categories were almost identical), but Cingular’s rate is what finally tipped me over the edge. Verizon’s data plan is ridiculously expensive.
My phone is supposed to have shipped yesterday and I’m dying in anticipation. They sent my accessories separately and now I have a little pink phone case sitting on my desk w/ a fake paper phone inside it just mocking me. Come ON!

Alright, I’m just about to lose my mind. They sent that notice on Saturday, but it was more of a “We’re ABOUT to ship it”. They didn’t actually send it until yesterday (TUESDAY). With two-day shipping, I should get it tomorrow. My excitment is waning…

Have to say, I started out with Sprint and was with them for many years–finally switched to Cingular a few years ago and have had far far fewer dropped calls. Of course, now my phone just likes to shut itself off at random (basically dropping calls), but I think I just need a new phone…

Kat, that is SO good to hear. I’ve heard good and bad things about Cingular, so I was just crossing my fingers it would work out. My current phone also shuts off at random (how annoying is THAT), but I think it’s because I may have dropped it a few (hundred) times.
