SXSW kicks into high gear for volunteers with Bag Stuffing. All volunteers (even Crew Chiefs) attend the mandatory session the night before the conference starts. There are 4 or 5 long rows of tables filled w/ people handing out schwag, you go to the end, grab a bag and make your way up the row of people and everyone throws something in. Starts out easy, but by the end they are hheeaavvy. And you go thru the line over and over and over…

This is the end result of JUST the music bags. There were also rows for film and interactive.

Tomorrow starts the Interactive portion, which was my favorite last year. I haven’t put my schedule together yet, but there’ll be plenty of time for that while I take up the hipster pose in the hallway w/ my macbook and cuppa coffee.
