I’ve been to two amazing panels so far this morning, Using RSS for Marketing (work related, but incredibly insightful in general) and Blogging Where Blogging Isn’t Free (blogging in countries where press freedom is censored and highly dangerous). I have no real stake in the latter (*slaps wrist*, we ALL have a stake), but this conference is as much about ingesting content that already interests me as well as branching out and learning new, foreign ideas (literally and figuratively).

Regarding the RSS panel, my favorite quote is “If you have a crappy Marketing message, RSS will only help you get it out to your audience faster.” (credited to John Jantsch, Owner, Duct Tape Marketing)
Did you hear that? Everyone? Marketers please take note.

The Free Press blogging panel was enlightening and pushed home that we can’t just fight for freedom of select oppressed bloggers (those already in jail), we have to fight for everyone. Even those you don’t agree with. If you want to learn more, start here - www.globalvoicesonline.org

Next on the agenda is “A Conversation with: Morgan Spurlock”, the creator of Super Size Me (breakout documentary on McDonalds from 2004). “IndieWIRE editor-in-chief Eugene Hernandez will sit down with Spurlock to discuss his influence on filmmaking and his new film ‘What Would Jesus Buy?’”

More to come…

Oh, also. I left my stupid compact flash card reader at home, so I can’t post pictures until later.
