Spring Cleaning
Yesterday was my very first official “spring cleaning” maybe ever in my life. We didn’t live in one house for very long growing up, so instead of spring cleaning, we just moved. It became a very handy habit over the years, every time we moved I was able to clear our all the junk I’d collected. Pack what you need, bring the rest to Goodwill. Great system. That went out the window when Jef and I bought a house last year. I wondered how I’d feel when we got to this point, would I get antsy and want to uproot, or would I be compelled to clean and redecorate. Cue the latter at 8AM yesterday (a Saturday!) as I threw open all the windows, opened the garage door and rolled up my sleeves. By the time Jef woke up, rubbing his eyes and in his pajamas, I already had a huge pile of stuff in the driveway for Goodwill. He took it one step further and decided we should finally install some much needed shelving in the garage. No more having to crawl around the car to get my potting soil and garden tools! No more storing the laundry detergent and weed killer right next to eachother! I get as excited about storage and organization as some girls do about shoes. I’m one step away from busting out the label maker.
Maybe next spring….

I love the idea of spring cleaning and lots of open air… maybe it’s time to do a number on this apartment… :-D

Our motivation works perfectly together, just when my attention span started to wane, his was just kicking in. He ended up working on it past dark, long after I’d gotten distracted and gone inside. We miss you too. Hugely.
