Dog Days of Summer
Our A/C went out again. This time on the hottest, most humid day in August (I’m not sure if it’s technically the hottest day of the year, but with no A/C it certainly feels like it).
Do you remember life w/out AC? Man, we didn’t have it all the time growing up, I’m really not sure how I survived. Jef rigged a poor-man’s swamp cooler in the bedroom so we could try and sleep last night. It’s basically two big containers of ice sitting in front of a box fan. It’s sad, and I’m not sure it really works, but makes us feel better knowing we tried.
We’ve called our Home Warranty company to send a technician, but we aren’t holding our breath since it’s a weekend. To cheer me up, I took a picture of Buster enjoying the fan. All the dogs (we’re dog-sitting a friend’s lab this weekend) have taken their turn in front of it. I may actually join them soon.

Dig the old license plate keychain tags in your header. My grandparents had a bunch of those.

Mine too! That’s actually where these came from, they were my grandfather’s. Here is the original photo. My sister gave me a little more info in the comments as to their history. I love them.
