Rosemary Infused Vodka
I made rosemary infused vodka as Christmas gifts this year. I have a big rosemary plant in the front yard, so it was just a matter of getting some vodka (I chose Fris) and decorative bottles (I found these at The Container Store). Fresh rosemary has a strong flavor, so I let it infuse only about a day. I tested another batch and any longer than that the vodka turns a darker yellow and it tastes a little… twiggy.
So far I’ve had mixed simply with a little grapefruit juice as well as in a Bloody Mary. It was totally overpowered in the latter, but I didn’t really care because I was liquored up and it was quite frankly the best Bloody Mary I’d ever had. (I recommend following the recipe exactly, and do yourself a favor and add the horseradish for the optional kick in the head.)
Merry Christmas!
