My friend, Kate, gave me this green carnation yesterday in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. They’re such an underrated flower, but once I got to looking at it, I decided they are actually very pretty. Maybe not all the artificial coloring, but there’s a certain charm to them for sure.

Also, Jef would like for me to mention that St. Patrick’s day was actually on Saturday 3/15 this year, not Monday 3/17 which is when celebrated because the 17th is tradition. It was changed by the Roman Catholic Church to avoid conflict with Holy Monday that falls on 3/17. It’s been driving him crazy.
