My name is Kristin.

I am an ‘emerging technology enthusiast’ and photographer. This blog is a place to try new things, showcase my photography and, most of all, keep my friend and family up to date with what I’m doing.

I love technology and nature. Gadgets and plants. Shiny objects and dirt. I like to go to the Farmer’s Market and check my RSS feeds as soon as I get home. I buy at least two new plants every month, and have 20 pictures of them on Flickr before I decide where to put them. Next spring I hope to have a vegetable garden.

I live in Austin, TX with my boyfriend, Jef, who is the easiest person I’ve ever met to love. Mostly because I’m difficult and he’s difficult and our difficulties match perfectly. We have four animals, all rescues, because we can’t seem to help ourselves. Two cats, Nori and Shorty, and two dogs, Lucy and Buster. They all have amazingly distinct personalities, photos of them can be found on Flickr.

I have a job at a promising startup, and I come home exhausted, but smiling. I didn’t think I’d be back in this position again. After the dot com days of e-Media, I wanted to wrap myself up in the security of a safe, stable company and never worry about funding again. But there’s something to be said about the passion of a 40 person team, standing tight together, doing whatever it takes to get the job done. I may have gotten the best boost on my resume from a high profile Ad Agency, but that’s not where I learned the most.

I may not be where I thought I’d be at 28, and thank God for that. My life is good and hard and perfect and imperfect. And all mine.
