Christmas Morning

1 Comment | I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I hope it was loving and joyful and all those other holiday adjectives that we overuse this time of year. But it's true... I hope it was all of those things. It's been a great few days around our house, full of lounging and eating and lots nothing. I finally got crazy motivated today and started cleaning and organizing - RIGHT before I have to go back to work. Why does that happen?
Anyway. More on that later. First, I have a Christmas story to share.
Jef and I had presents under the tree for each other, but when he came to bed, an hour or so after I did on Christmas Eve, he made sure to tell me to wake him up before going downstairs in the morning. Then when I woke up, there was a note on my nightstand that said "Wake me up to go downstairs together." Hmmmmm, TWO reminders. There must be something really interesting down there.
"Hey Jef... Wake up, wake up, wake up! It's CHRISTMAS."
"Uhhnnn... sleeeeep"
"The dogs need to go out, we HAVE to go downstairs."
"How old are you?"
"I can't wait any longer, the presents are caaaaallling to me."
And THIS is what was downstairs. That was NOT there when I went to bed. What the heck is it and how did he get it inside?
I considered not showing the unwrapped photo and having you all guess what it was, but I couldn't do it. It's a planter box for my spring veggies! He put some empty cardboard boxes inside to try and throw me off. Damn that Jef is HANDY (and sneaky)!
Family,
Home Sweet Home,
Jef,
