Liliana & Marshall: Engaged!

Liliana and Marshall are the sweetest couple. We connected a little last minute, and thankfully I had their date available. In situations like that, sometimes things get a little chaotic or rushed, but not with these guys. They were so calm and laid back, everything just fell right in to place - like it was meant to be. The more I get to know this couple, the more I see that's how they are in everything they do. What a great way to start their life together.

For those of you who attended the wedding last weekend, the photos will be posted within 2-3 weeks. I can't wait for you all to see them!

On an sidenote, this awesome couple found me through a photographer I'd met last year at an event called Help Portrait Austin. Help-Portrait is a community of photographers, coming together across the world, to use their photography skills to give back to their local community. This year's event is on December 10, 2011. If you are a photographer, make-up artist, hair stylist, or just want to help out, they can always use a hand. You can find more information at http://www.facebook.com/HelpPortraitAustin.

HS Senior: Jaren

You might remember Susan and Lance, I took their engagement photos a few months back. Well, Susan's son, Jaren, is graduating soon and she wanted a sharp photo for his announcement. We'd been looking forward to the photos all week and of course the ONE day we needed the weather to cooperate it started pouring! Thankfully the skies cleared up just in time and we had a few perfect hours.

The best part was Susan telling him over and over to smile WITH teeth! Apparently he'd just gotten his braces off and she wanted some good photos of his NEW smile. Mission accomplished!

Rob, the Piano Player

Rob Greenfield is an an amazing piano player here in Austin. He is also a teacher, a composer and has a small recording studio. To match his many talents, he also has a GREAT sense of style, so when he approached me for photos a few months ago I knew we'd have a great time.

Dia de los Muertos - Austin 2009

The Mexic-Arte Museum celebrated its 26th Annual Día de los Muertos last month – Austin’s largest and longest-running Day of the Dead festival. I'm finally getting around to posting pictures! There festival ran during the day and included music, food and art, and a 'Grand Procession' in the evening. The photos below are from the procession. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it. Día de los Muertos is a wonderful holiday that celebrates the life of the ones we've lost, not just their death.

And of course, there's always a good number of Chihuahuas in costumes, how can you say no to that?
